About EUBFE
This page explains what operated under eubfe.eu until 2020 – and what the domain is used for today. It exists because a number of institutional websites still link here.
The EU Business Forum in Ethiopia (2012–2020)
From 2012 onwards, eubfe.eu was the website of the EU Business Forum in Ethiopia, a membership organisation that brought together European companies operating in Ethiopia. It was part of the wider network of European business organisations abroad and worked alongside the EU Delegation to Ethiopia.
Its work fell into four recurring areas, which is also how the old website was organised:
- Advocacy – submissions on customs law, commercial registration and licensing, container weight limits and immigration directives for foreign investors.
- Public–private dialogue – meetings with the Ministry of Revenue, the Investment Commission and the customs authority, plus a technical committee.
- Consultation – input to draft investment law, positions on currency devaluation, and economic and trade reporting.
- Events and networking – thematic breakfasts and cocktails, general assemblies, and participation in EU chamber summits in Brussels.
The organisation also published policy briefs, most prominently on foreign direct investment and Ethiopia's foreign exchange situation, and an early assessment of the economic impact of COVID-19. Public activity on this website stops in 2020.
What this domain is today
eubfe.eu is now a German-language editorial portal about doing business in the European single market: market entry, financing and EU funding, digitalisation, company law and sustainability. It is operated commercially and independently.
There is no legal, organisational or personal continuity between the current site and the former EU Business Forum in Ethiopia. We do not represent its members, hold its records, or speak on its behalf, and we cannot issue certificates, confirmations or membership documents relating to it.
